Aims:
This presentation delivers training to explain the technical aspects of producing CBCT radiographic images and factors related to image quality and radiation dosage. The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) will be reviewed to highlight the various roles and responsibilities of duty holders.

Objectives:
– Summarise the roles of IRMER duty holders
– Explain the technology used in the generation CBCT images
– Explain the factors that influence image diagnostic quality

Learning content:
The present the theory of ionizing radiation and its application to the production of three-dimensional images. Actual clinic images will be used to demonstrated the relationship between sensor features and dosage.
